Gail Godwin, age 63, of Bay Shore, was charged with second-degree manslaughter in the homicide that occurred in Garden City at about 9:20 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Garden City Police officers responded to a report of an unconscious man at a residence on Monroe Street.
Officers saw the man appeared to have suffered a laceration to his head, and he was pronounced deceased at about 9:30 p.m., police said.
Investigators later arrested Godwin at the scene, NCPD said.
Police said in addition to the manslaughter charge, Godwin was also charged with second-degree tampering with physical evidence and endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.
She was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, Dec. 29, police said.
